Neopred-P Eye/ Ear sterile suspension contains Neomycin Sulphate, Polymixin B Sulphate and Prednisolone Acetate as active ingredients.

Neopred-P is a steroid/anti-infective combination which indicated for steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions for which a corticosteroid is indicated and where bacterial infection or a risk of bacterial ocular infection exists.

Neomycin, polymyxin B, and Prednisolone combination in Neopred-P is used to treat eye infections and inflammation, including conjunctivitis and chronic anterior uveitis. It also prevents damage caused by chemicals, radiation, or foreign objects entering the eye.

Neomycin and polymyxin B belong to the class of medicines known as antibiotics. They work by killing the bacteria or preventing their growth. Prednisolone is a steroid medicine that is used to relieve the redness, itching, and swelling caused by eye infections.

Neopred-P is used also as ear drops for the treatment of external ear bacterial infections especially Otitis Externa.

Method of Administration

Use Neopred-P Eye/ Ear suspension exactly as your doctor tells you to. Shake well before use.

TO TREAT THE EYE: It is usual to to instill 1 or 2 drops every 3 or 4 hours, or more frequently as required. Acute infections may require administration every 30 minutes, with frequency of administration reduced as the infection is brought under control.

TO TREAT THE LIDS: It is usual to to instill 1 or 2 drops in the eye every 3 to 4 hours, close the eye and rub the excess on the lids and lid margins.

TO TREAT THE EAR: It is usual to to instill 3 drops into the affected ear 3 or 4 times a day.

Directions for Use for Adminstration

1. Wash your hands first with soap and water.
2. Shake the bottle well before each use.
3. As eye drops; Tilt your head back a little and pull the lower lid of your eye downwards to form a pocket. Hold the bottle upside down near to your eye. Try not to touch your eye as you do this. Apply enough pressure to gently release the prescribed number of drops into your eye. Only use another drop if any drop missed going into your eye.
4. As ear drops; Lie down or tilt your head so that the infected ear faces up. Gently pull the earlobe up and back for adults (down and back for children) to straighten the ear canal. Drop the prescribed number of drops into the ear canal. Keep the ear facing up for about 5 minutes to allow the medicine to coat the ear canal.
5. To keep the medicine as germ-free as possible, do not touch the dropper to any surface (including the eye and ear). Also, keep the container tightly closed.
